Children at Your Destination Wedding

Planning a destination wedding with young children attending?

We've got you covered!

Take a look at a few easy and inexpensive ideas!!

It's important to be very clear from the start that you are inviting your guests' children.

The invitation should not be addressed to Mr. and Mrs. Smith and Family.

This is vague and you don't want any surprises when the entire extended family arrives.

Print the names of the children on the inner envelope of the invitation, if there is no inner envelope then print it on the outer.

Make sure the resort you choose accepts and has activities for the age group attending.

Your Destination Wedding Specialist will be able to help you select a property that has something for everybody.

At the ceremony the children can be ushers, ring bearers, flower girls, hand out programs and do a variety of small tasks.

Some other nice touches are to have a children's buffet with finger food as well as some crafts to keep them occupied during the reception.

Mac & Cheese, sliders, chicken fingers and all their favorite foods will definitely be a hit

Try to make sure that babysitting is also offered at the hotel, again your Destination Travel Planner will be able to assist.

Their favors should not be the same as those for the adults. A simple custom paper cone filled with candy is not only easy to pack, but will make a great impression.

If the children will be attending (for a short while) be sure to visit your local Dollar Store prior to departure.

Pick up a few activity books with markers or crayons!
This will keep them busy and make their parents love you a little more!

Also an amazing keepsake for them!

A Website for Your Destination Wedding

Many of the couples I've worked with have chosen to create a website for their Destination Wedding. This is a great way to keep your guests and those who may not be able to attend up to date with your latest news.

This is an inexpensive way to get a ton of information out there. You can use your website for just about anything. Save the Dates to RSVPs.

Always remember to include your Destination Wedding Specialist's coordinates, as well.

Post recent pictures and pertinent information on the location of your Destination Wedding, such as maps and available activities at location.

You can continue posting pictures once you get home. A great way to keep the group chatting about your memorable day!

This has proven to be a real time saver and very cost effective.

Your Destination Wedding Specialist Montreal: Destination Wedding Hidden Costs

Destination Wedding Hidden Costs

After many years of planning Destination Weddings, I've come to learn that there may be hidden costs to the Bride and Groom and some guests as well. A few I'd like to share with you.

While most resorts offer "complimentary ceremonies". These ceremonies may have a guest limit. For instance, the "complimentary ceremony" includes ten guests.

You might be subject to pay for the number attending over ten people.

Should you decide not to have a photographer traveling with you, you may want to consider a local. This too will cost you.

If you are planning your Destination Wedding close to home, and have guests attending for the day only, day rates may also apply.

It is for these very reasons to consult with an experienced Destination Wedding Specialist who will be able to advise you of any hidden fees, and avoid unpleasant surprises.
