Destination Wedding Etiquette

Destination weddings continue to evolve on a regular basis due to their increasing popularity.

As a result sometimes you might find yourself in a sticky situation having to answer questions which would never be asked if you were having a traditional wedding.

When should you send out your Save the Dates?

Try to give your guests as much notice as possible.

They also have to plan for their time off and think about work, family and other obligations.
Nine months to a year is standard.

If you choose to give more or less time that's alright too!

Nowhere is it written that you must host a Welcome Dinner or a Farewell Brunch.

Most couples opt to do at least one of these two get togethers.
It will give your guests a chance to meet each other and spend some quality time with you too!

If you are traveling to an all inclusive, there would be no additional charges and most do find it a very thoughtful gesture.

You can also host a bonfire on the beach and roast s'mores!

If you've decided to have an adult only wedding this might cause a problem if  some will be traveling with their children.

It's not suggested to print "Adults Only" or "No Children" on your invitations.
Make sure the invitations are addressed to Mr. & Mrs. only.

Why not start by letting your bridal party know and have them help you spread the word.
Always remember if asked, be tactful especially if dealing with a parent of these children.

While not mandatory, Welcome Bags are always such a considerate token of your appreciation .
Especially after a day of travel.
My favorite part of these gifts is to include a personal handwritten note.

No need to break the bank
Fill these bags or boxes with flip fops, bottled water and many other useful and inexpensive items.

As always your destination wedding specialist should have many more great idea for you.

Please remember we would love to give you a complimentary quote.
We offer complimentary stays and very flexible payment plans.

Hope to hear from you,

Heidi

Insanely Affordable Destination Wedding Ideas

When planning a Destination Wedding there are details you have never thought about AND nobody (except your Destination Wedding Planner) will let you know about!

There are so many inexpensive ways to set yourselves apart from everybody and keep your guests talking long after the music stops!

Simply line the aisle with these awesome buckets and fill them with baby's breath.

You can ship the buckets ahead of time or arrange for the resort to supply them.

Baby's breath is inexpensive and makes a statement.

Also makes a great keepsake should any guest decide to grab it up!

A touch of class and romance!

At your Destination Wedding pay attention to the details.
Always think about our pictures.

Have you thought about the back of the bride and groom's chairs at your reception?

They can be decorated with ease and even better, you can prepare from home.

Simply have these printed up before you travel...
Add flowers or NOT!
Change the signs to Better with You

Possibilities are endless and you don't have to break the bank.

If you have children attending..

You might want to make a stop at your local Dollar Store before you leave.
Invest in a few activity books.

Your guests (their parents) will never forget your thoughtfulness.

These kids will be busy all night long!!

Don't forget the crayons!

There are so many more ideas for you.
We LOVE mason jars and their many purposes.

Printed "Thank You's" of appreciation and OH, so much more!

Please don't hesitate to contact us for rates in Canadian Dollars!
Remember, it doesn't matter where you're located

We would love to hear from you,

Selecting a Location for Your Destination Wedding ~ What to Consider

One of the first things you will do after deciding to have a destination wedding is to choose a location.

Here are somethings to consider..

If you have guests attending with young children you might want to look into resorts that offer mini clubs and babysitting services.

This will make it very comfortable for everybody.

If you are lucky enough to have grandparents and older guests, you might want to think about smaller easy to navigate properties.

Some even offer shuttle services on the grounds. We'd love to tell you about these resorts!

Inform yourself about weather at the time of year you'd like to have your destination wedding.

Is it hurricane season?

Try to make the flying time reasonable as well.
If possible direct flights work best and will allow some guests to travel for a shorter or longer period of time.

Send out your Save the Dates as soon as possible.
The more time people have to plan, the better

Do know that some guests who you really thought would never miss out on the great celebration of your destination wedding might not attend?

You are not alone, this happens more often than you think.

Keep your head up, it will be a fabulous party!

We have many more great ideas for you!

Your Destination Wedding ~ Things to Think About!

You've decided to have a destination wedding and things just couldn't be better!

WAIT!!

What happens on the off chance it rains on your wedding day?

Do you have a backup plan?

A PLAN B?

This is something you will definitely want to discuss with your destination wedding planner.

Know your options in advance to avoid sheer panic Day Of!

On the other hand
There is nothing more romantic than pictures in the rain.
Something you can never reproduce.

Hopefully, you'll be taking your vows under abundant sunshine

Please remember, your guests will be seated for a while and really need to hydrate.

If anybody faints at your wedding..it shouldn't be a guest!

Make sure to provide everybody with a bottle of water.
A thoughtful touch to your ceremony.

You might even want to go the extra mile and have labels printed before you leave.

Simply stick them on your bottles!

Whatever you do, please don't forget your vendors!
They need water too.

Like anything else in life things will happen!
Luggage will get lost and people might get irritated.

It's their holiday too!

Keep your head up ad have the very best time at your destination wedding.

Remember, this is only happening once!

Enjoy every moment

We have so many more ideas for you.
