Getting the Groom's Party looking Great

Often the emphasis is put on the bride's dress, the bridal party and sometimes the groom's party becomes neglected.
It's every bit as important to coordinate both parties.
The groom's party can look fabulous at a Destination Wedding with a few simple ideas.
As a general rule, destination weddings are a little more "laid back" than tradtional.
Why not forget the jackets and have the groom's party wear vests instead of jackets, with matching ties?   Have them roll up their sleeves for a more relaxed look!

Or, you may choose to have them all wear suspenders!  An original idea and always fun.  You might decide to have your bridal party wear matching sashes..

I love a heather gray look on men in the wedding party.  This way they can wear a beautiful pastel colored  boutinere.
It also won't take away from the bridal party if they're all dressed in bolder colors.

Whatever you do, don't overlook the importance of the groom's men!

As always, your Destination Wedding Planner will have many more ideas on this topic and others.

Table Decor

A big reason most choose to have a Destination Wedding is to cut down on actual day of wedding costs.  We all know just how expensive and out of budget things can get, and quickly too.
So, here are a few ideas to add a little spice to your reception tables.  All inexpensive and creative.

Keeping it all white doesn't necessarily mean boring.  White crisp linens and gold trimmed white plates make for an absolutely elegant table setting.

There are a few dining options at your reception following your destination wedding ceremony.  One of which is having a buffet dinner with free seating for your guests.  Why not place flashlights under the tables?  This will surely brighten up any celebration.

The use of pretty colored bottles as center pieces is a great way to display the local flowers.  This look will dress up any table.

Always take advantage of the simple things.  A sunset, the beach....remember it's a Destination Wedding...ANYTHING GOES!

As always, Your Destination Wedding Planner will have many more ideas for you.

Simple SAVE THE DATE Ideas

You've decided to have a Destination Wedding.
You are almost certain of those attending..
Now what do you do?  SAVE THE DATE? Invitations?
Hmm?
Which one, ore both?

I suggest  "Save the Date" followed by an official iinvitation.
Save the Dates can be very original and relate to your wedding or color scheme or both.
Here are a few examples of creative Save The Dates for Your Destination Wedding.  They can be sent by e-invite or custom printed.
From a standard template you may choose a theme that reflects your ideas for this special occasion.

You may decide to go for a "travel" themed Save the Date
Including luggage tags.
Or, you may decide to incorporate your color scheme into the Save the Date..
Which every you choose, remember there are NO RULES!
I guess I'm still a little "old school" and am a firm believer in beautiful formal, mailed invitations, RSVPs included..
Still nothing like receiving a beautifully crafted invite!
My all time favorite, CAMELEON DESIGN (they a\lso service world wide)  Look them up www.cameleon-design.ca

Props for Pics

Your head is swimming with details, details, details!!
You've picked your destination, chosen your decorations and you think you've done it all....

WAIT!!

What about your pictures?
Have you thought about them?  These are the images that will last you a lifetime.
With simple inexpensive props, you can create the most beautiful images ever!

Here are a few of my personal "picks".
Why not start with a few great pictures of the bridal party getting ready? Sans make up...?  Matching bathrobes?  Why not?

It's all in the details..
Fresh flowers from the island cascading your wedding cake really add character. They can be in keeping with your color scheme, or maybe not... Your call.

Another idea, not to be overlooked is your lighting...
Candles, light bulbs, and lanterns all add ambiance as well as a great photo to be remembered...

Take advantage of nature to send a message to those who were unable to attend.
All you need is sand or snow!
Who would ever forget this message?

Lastly, a sunset which costs you absolutely nothing will make you look simply amazing!
No matter what you choose for your pictures at your destination wedding, remember to have FUN!
As always, your Destination Wedding Planner will have many more inexpensive ideas for you.
