Remembering Those Who Are Not Present

While you are busy planning Your Destination Wedding, I'm sure a few people have crossed your mind...Those who were unable to attend.

There are a variety of reasons some so close to you will not be able to witness Your Destination Wedding.

Take this opportunity to remember and honor them.

While they hold a very special place in your heart, I'm sure they too hold a very special place for you

.

Why not have a table runner with photos to remember those at home?

Perhaps they couldn't attend due to financial reasons.
No need to leave them out!

For those who have passed away, simply leave a vacant chair with a personalized card.

I know it would warm my heart to see them there, if only in spirit.

Or, you may choose to have special photos attached to your bouquet.

There are truly so many unique, inexpensive ways to have those nearest to you at Your Destination Wedding.

Unique Ideas for Your Destination Wedding Ceremony

Most brides spend hours making sure no detail is overlooked at their Destination Wedding.

Here are a few unique and inexpensive ideas that will keep your guests talking long after the dancing ends.

Why not have rose ice cubes to chill champagne, white wine or beer?

Roses can be replaced with local flowers.

How about filling your canopy with confetti?

Once you've said "I Do", simply pull the flap and VOILA!

Tie balloons with long ribbon to the first row of chairs that lead down the aisle.

When the bride and groom start walking back, each grabs a bunch and releases them at the end of their walk.

You can have your guests or the bridal party do the same.

Sparklers always make a statement, especially if your ceremony is taking place later in the day.

Talk about making an exit!

These are just a few unique and fun ideas that won't break the bank.  They're easy to pack and are sure to leave lasting memories from Your Destination Wedding.

As always, Your Destination Wedding Planner will have many more ideas for you.

A Vintage Vibe with Tons of Romantic Lace

You've decided to have a vintage theme Destination Wedding.

If this is the case, opt for a lace or ivory color gown.

As all eyes are on the bride, this gown will most definitely set the mood for a very romantic wedding.

Carry this theme through the rest of your special day with a few inexpensive touches.

Simply attach oversize lace bows to the chairs going down your aisle.

Add a bunch of babys breath to capture a vintage touch.

Your table numbers can be made from white wash wood blocks and a sharpie.
It doesn't get much easier!

These can be decorated with a lace bow or simply by attaching a pale colored flower, or both.

If you're planning on wedding favors, what could be easier than paper bags with a lace trim and a bit of ribbon?

They're very easy to travel with and don't take up much room.

Important to remember, it's a Destination Wedding and there are no rules!

RAIN on my Destination Wedding Day?

You've planned Your Destination Wedding and all is in place..You have a vision of the perfect day with the sun setting while you say you're exchanging vows....Have you ever stopped to think WHAT IF it RAINS?

As a victim of awful weather myself, this is one thing you simply cannot control on your wedding day.
I say have FUN with it as you see the clouds rolling in!

There are so many elements you can control the day of Your Destination Wedding,  then there is Mother Nature!

Nothing like a colored umbrella, billy boots and so much more to capture your special day!

The good news is, if you've travelled to a tropical destination chances are...This weather will NOT last too long!!
Looking on the positive side, it makes the sand much easier to post your final thoughts and share with those who were unable to attend.

I say, take this opportunity to make your wedding day that much more memorable.  Remember, if you're getting WET so is everybody else!

As always, Your Destination Wedding Planner will have many more ideas for you.

Say it with Crystals

Decorations for Your Destination Wedding don't have to cost you an arm and a leg!!  Crystals are both eye catching and inexpensive.  They can jazz up just about anything.

You can have long strands hanging from tree branches to create a very memorable atmosphere.

Or, if you've decided to walk down the aisle in a pair of flip flops, why not add a few?  A little glue goes a long way!

You can also decorate the arch way, canopy, entrance or just about anything with a few single strands and a bit of an imagination.

Crystals will pick up the perfect amount of light and make your wedding look that much more special.
Easy to transport, they can be used on your dress, your bouquet, and even on your feet.

A special original touch to add to Your Destination Wedding.

As always, your Destination Wedding Planner will have many more ideas for you.

Color Choices

Now that you've decided to have a Destination Wedding, one of the very first questions will be... "What are your colors?"

There are many deciding factors..All depending on your taste, personalities and choice..

Here are a few helpful hints..

If you've decided to get married on the slopes, close to Christmas..You may decide to go with white, red and a hint of black.

Perhaps you're celebrating in Bali or the Caribbean, you may then choose to pick up on the romantic blues or lush emeralds reflected from the ocean.

For those who have chosen to put all these ideas aside, and just go with their own personal style at their Destination Wedding..How about Vintage?  What about lace?  Or, both!!
No matter what you choose, try to incorporate nature's beauty and the season..You can't go wrong!  Not to mention, it won't cost you a thing.
Remember, there are no rules when it comes to a Destination Wedding.

Say it with SIGNS!

At Your Destination Wedding there are NO rules!!  Anything, goes..
So, why not say it with signs?

Have your wedding cards placed in a vintage suitcase...Simply stencil the word C A R D S and hang the letters over the suitcase..

You may want to place a personalized DO NOT DISTURB sign in your Welcome Bags.  This will allow your guests to place them on their hotel doors the night of your wedding and hopefully NOT be disturbed the morning after.

A little chalk can go a long way when it comes to signs!
Here are a few examples for your wedding day:
No matter what you may choose to "say", doing it with imaginative signs will leave a lasting impression.

A Token of Appreciation

It is of the utmost of importance to thank your guests for attending Your Destination Wedding.

While this magical occasion is all about you, it really wouldn't mean anything without your guests.

Try to remember these people, whether family or friends who have taken time out of their busy schedules, perhaps had to find and pay for babysitters while they're celebrating with you, and above all have spent money to attend your wedding away.
A welcome bag is always a nice touch.  You can have it waiting on their room upon arrival, or hand them out at the beach.  The contents of this bag can be inexpensive, but will definitely make a statement.  Some suggestions are: a bottle of water, small tube of sunscreen, and mints.  You may even decide to have canvas bags that can double as beach bags.

Why not have your Wedding Programs designed as keepsakes?  Perhaps, have them in the form of a fan..This can serve multiple purposes.

Another idea I absolutely LOVE, is to have a crate filled with flip flops.  You may or may not decide to have these monogrammed.. Either way, they'll always serve as a reminder of Your Destination Wedding, not to mention soothe aching feet!

Finally, how about having luggage tags printed up with your invitations?  When the bags come flying down the turnstile everybody will have fun trying to see if the luggage is theirs!

Whatever you choose to do, try to let your guests know just how much you appreciate their presence at Your Destination Wedding.  Afterall, if it weren't for them your wedding never would have been the same!

As always, Your Destination Wedding Specialist will have many more great ideas for you.

Ideas for Destination Wedding Itineraries

I love the idea of Destination Wedding Itineraries!

Simply put, these are a list of activities you've pre planned for all your guests.

You can plan as much or as little as you want.  But, letting your guests know what you have in store for them is always a great idea.

From my personal experience, I always think it's best to have these "itineraries" in the Welcome Bags.  If you have them inserted into the Destination Wedding Invitations, chances are...they'll be left at home!!
You definitely do NOT have to break the bank with your Welcome Bags..

Whatever you do, don't go overboard with activities but try to make sure that proper introductions are made.
A "Welcome Dinner" is a fun way to have a laid back get together.  You might even want to consider name tags.

The day before Your Destination Wedding, you might decide to have a "spa day" with your girls while the guys play a round of golf.  This is a great opportunity to provide monogrammed shirts for both parties!  They also make great keepsakes!

I love a folding card with "His" and "Her" sides.  This way everybody will know where they have to be, and where their significant other can be found.

Think of the Toddlers at Your Destination Wedding

If you have toddlers attending Your Destination Wedding, you may want to make a quick trip to the Dollar Store prior to your departure.
You'd be surprised how little you can spend on items that will keep them busy for hours.

A few ideas might include something as simple as a shovel and pail.  These may cost a small fortune at the destination gift shop.

It's been my experience and I have no idea why, but children seem to love tents.

These tents are easy to pack and travel with, real space savers.
Plus they multi task.. They can serve as a "private place", a protector from the sun, or just a place to grab a quick nap with the parents close by.

At your reception you may want to consider having a table strictly for the children with a mini buffet especially for them.

Don't forget to keep them occupied with a few crafts.

Water paint or a coloring book will last them a long time.

These inexpensive gestures will make you look like a star while keeping the kids busy!

As always, Your Destination Wedding Planner will have many more ideas for you.

Getting the Groom's Party looking Great

Often the emphasis is put on the bride's dress, the bridal party and sometimes the groom's party becomes neglected.
It's every bit as important to coordinate both parties.
The groom's party can look fabulous at a Destination Wedding with a few simple ideas.
As a general rule, destination weddings are a little more "laid back" than tradtional.
Why not forget the jackets and have the groom's party wear vests instead of jackets, with matching ties?   Have them roll up their sleeves for a more relaxed look!

Or, you may choose to have them all wear suspenders!  An original idea and always fun.  You might decide to have your bridal party wear matching sashes..

I love a heather gray look on men in the wedding party.  This way they can wear a beautiful pastel colored  boutinere.
It also won't take away from the bridal party if they're all dressed in bolder colors.

Whatever you do, don't overlook the importance of the groom's men!

As always, your Destination Wedding Planner will have many more ideas on this topic and others.
