Destination Wedding Attire

You're getting ready to send out your Destination Wedding invitations or e-invites.

                                                                  So exciting!

One BIG question...have you decided what the dress code you'd like to have?

This information should be very clearly indicated.

It will provide clarity for your guests as well as save you time in answering the same question "what are we supposed to wear?"

Here are a few examples of Destination Wedding dress codes:

Beach Chic, would suggest relaxed attire, such as a sundress.
A fun laid back look and comfortable!!

Beach Formal, if you want your guests a little more dressed up.

If you're planning a formal ceremony, then go with Black Tie Optional.

Don't forget the Groom's Party too!
Have fun and have them looking sexy too!!

Be very careful with the wording "Beach Casual" if you don't want to see your guests in their best shorts!

As always, a dedicated Destination Wedding Travel Planner will help you navigate through the wording with ease.

Destination Wedding Welcome Gifts

It's always nice to receive a gift, especially if you're attending a Destination Wedding. As the host remember that these people have spent money and taken the time to be a part of your special celebration.

Here are few suggestions for goodies which won't break the bank.

Sunscreen is always at the top of my list. Often a forgotten at home and something you can never have too much of. No need to buy the jumbo size either.

Great for a beach or ski destination wedding.

Flip flops which you may chose to have personalized either with "Bride and Groom", names of the bride and groom, or simply the date.

A tote bag to place all the goodies inside. This tote can serve many purposes. A laundry bag, beach bag and will be used long after the vacation has ended. This too can be personalized.

Since it's challenging these days to travel with lots of liquids, why not print up labels with the bride and groom's names as well as your wedding date and if there's space the location. Simply stick these labels on to a bottle of water.

One of my favorites of all, is a handwritten Thank You note. These notes may be given to the resort staff who will gladly place them on your guests' pillows when they do the turn down service at night. You can have this done the first or last night of your trip. A few words go a long way.

Your Destination Wedding Planner will be happy to assist with more great ideas.

The possibilities are endless. And, always remember ~ it's the thought that counts!

Destination Weddings at Sea

Many of the major cruise lines offer weddings onboard. But, if you think any Captain can marry you, think again!!

Captains must be legal officiants, onboard a ship which permits legal marriages.

If you want your guests to be part of your special celebration, they must also be sailing with you. An alternative would be to plan your wedding in a port which is on your itinerary. This choice might be slightly risky, because all itineraries are subject to change at any time and sometimes the water is simply too rough to dock in a particular port.

A variety of wedding and vow renewal packages are available for a wide price range. For instance, your ceremony can be broadcast live via webcam for those who may not be able to attend. Your Destination Wedding Planner will be happy to help you choose a package best suited for your needs.

Nautical Nuptials are becoming very popular. For more info please don't hesitate to contact us.

Tips on Saving $ on Your Honeymoon or Destination Wedding

Planning a wedding can be very overwhelming and expensive. On top of that you'll have a new home to move into and all that goes with it.

This may leave you with limited funds to plan a Honeymoon or Destination Wedding.

Here are a few ideas for you:

A Honeymoon Registry will allow your guests to contribute to either a Destination Wedding or Honeymoon.

Traveling during the "off season" is another great alternative. I bet you also didn't know that traveling mid week as opposed to the week ends could save you as well.

Always consult with a Destination Wedding Specialist or Travel Consultant who specializes in this type of travel for the best tips.

My personal favorite is the All Inclusive choice. No hidden costs, everything included and once you've paid for your trip, you're done!

Bon Voyage!
