Making Your Destination Wedding Memorable for Everybody

There is no doubt Your Destination Wedding will be most memorable.

As a Destination Wedding Specialist, I always suggest that you travel with prepared itineraries for your guests.

A suggestion for one of your activities should be some time for the Groom and his party, such as fishing, skiing, hiking, or golfing.

Personalize the golf balls, or travel with printed tee shirts. Always a fun and inexpensive idea. They also make for great keepsakes.

While the guys are off, plan an afternoon of pampering for the bridal party. Most resorts have spas offering a variety of services.

Always remember to have disposable cameras readily available to capture the impromptu moments.

Once you get home, host a party and share all your videos and pictures.

Memories to last long after the dancing ends!

Pros to a Destination Wedding

Why wait until your honeymoon to dip your toes in the ocean or plant your ski poles in the snow?

Before committing to a Destination Wedding, here are a few things to consider...

Major Reasons for Choosing a Destination Wedding:

You'll be relieving yourself of alot of stress. Finding a good Destination Wedding Specialist will ease your mind, and your planning. An onsite wedding coordinator will also prove beneficial.

Destination Weddings allow you to invite those closest and nearest to you while leaving those you feel "obliged" to invite, at home.

You can combine your wedding with your honeymoon.

Destination Weddings are usually less expensive than traditional weddings at home.

Always be sure to deal with a dedicated Destination Wedding Specialist ~ usually a Travel Consultant/Agent with wedding experience and tips for you.

If you are looking for a variety of options, please visit us on Facebook~

Destination Wedding Attire

When selecting your dress for your DESTINATION WEDDING, take the following factors into consideration:

Does your wedding have a theme

The destination climate

A style which is most flattering to your body type

The most important thing to remember is COMFORT!

Men have it much easier. They can wear a light suit, with or without a tie.

Many resorts do offer tuxedo rentals, as well.

As a general rule, DESTINATION WEDDINGS are less formal than traditional.

Things to know about a CRUISE DESTINATION WEDDING

Planning a DESTINATION WEDDING while at sea, on a cruise is a great option!

There are a few things you might want to take into consideration before planning your wedding.

The major cruises noted for holding Weddings are: CARNIVAL CRUISE LINE, PRINCESS CRUISE LINE and ROYAL CARIBBEAN. All of them do offer Wedding Packages. These packages are also very reasonably priced.

Contrary to popular belief, there are very few Captains who will in fact marry you. Generally an Officiant will be available for your ceremony. Most cruise ships do have Chapels.

You may opt to have your ceremony on an island which is a stop on your cruise itinerary, instead. This will allow your guests to meet up with you and spend as much or as little time as they can afford. It will also give you a very private honeymoon, afterwards...

Either way ,it will be the celebration of a lifetime, providing you work closely with a Destination Wedding Planner to ensure the best rates and relieve you of planning every last detail.

BON VOYAGE!

Working with a Travel Planner for Your Destination Wedding has many Advantages

Here are a few tips WHY to work with a Travel Planner when mapping out your destination wedding.

Your Travel Planner has a variety of options which will not only help you choose your location, but prove to be a tremendous time saver and most cost efficient.

Planners also have the tools and contacts that may not be that readily available to you. You'll be advised on legal requirements which vary from destination to destination.

Most traveling to the Caribbean will select an ALL INCLUSIVE RESORT. Most of these resorts have dedicated on site Wedding Planners. Their services are usually complimentary for their brides and grooms, and even offer free ceremonies.

If you choose a resort which is not all inclusive, there are serveral major hotel chains who also specialize in Destination Weddings.

Working with a Destination Wedding Planner will definitely make your life alot easier, free up your time for more important things, and reduce your costs substantially.

Tips on Packing for Your Destination Wedding

Start packing for your destination wedding at least a week in advance. Start with a list and try to stick with it.

You don't want to be rushed and risk forgetting important items that may be difficult to purchase at a resort.

Your wedding dress and his suit should be in a garment bag. This bag should travel with you to avoid any lost luggage. The bag usually can be hung in a closet onboard the plane. This is also a great investment if you don't already own one. You will use it every time you travel.

Other items to consider traveling with onboard are: any medications, all legal documents, including your Passports, and of course my phone numbers!

My personal favorite packing item is Ziplocks. They serve many purposes (protecting your camera in the sand, also great to store wet bathing suits).

Always remember, if you don't pack it here, you'll have to buy it there!!

Your Destination Wedding Specialist Montreal: Destination Wedding Etiquette

Your Destination Wedding Specialist Montreal: Destination Wedding Etiquette: "As a Destination Wedding Specialist in Montreal I always try to stress the importance of Destination Wedding Etiquette. As a gene..."

Destination Wedding Etiquette

As a Destination Wedding Specialist in Montreal I always try to stress the importance of Destination Wedding Etiquette.

As a genereal rule, attending guests are expected to pay for their own travel. Of course there can be exceptions. This is one of the many perks of using a Destination Wedding Specialist, reduced group rates, complimentary upgrades, etc...

Destination Wedding Specialists can become real time savers for you. Planning out every last detail from beginning until the end of your trip.

I also usually suggest a written itinerary for your family and friends at destination. This will permit everybody to plan their free time and meet up with the group as well. You might want to plan a get together upon arrival or a meal the night before you say I DO! It's very important to remember that this is a vacation for your guests too.

The hotel will be happy to give them out for you when your guests check in.

Try not to plan you ceremony the day after arrival, a few days later is always best. You don't want anybody suffering from jet lag and want to leave ample time for flight delays especially during he Winter months.

Some thoughts on where to have Your Destination Wedding

The most popular Destination Weddings are planned on the beach. This atmosphere is laid back and can accommodate just about anybody who may be joining you. As a general rule, there are charter flights which reduce costs. Many are geared towards families and have a Mini Club at no additional charge. Packages may also be available for stays of less than a week. Imagine, walking down the aisle barefoot!

For the trend setters a choice of New York, Italy or a Chateau in France may be the way to go! Vineyards in Tuscany can be most picturesque. When choosing a location in Europe always make sure there will be enough rooms for all your guests, or a location very nearby.

Our more adventurous bride and groom may chose Costa Rica or Australia where a variety of outdoor activities are readily available.

No matter your location, please always remember to consult your destination wedding specialist to check on the legal requirements of the country of your choice.

Gift Favors for your Guests upon arrival at Your Destination Wedding

Often, as a Destination Wedding Specialist, I'm asked if it's "necessary" to have a gift bag upon arrival for attending guests. Though not necessary, I think it's a very nice gesture. Afterall, these people have spent alot of money to share this very special time with you. It's a nice touch and dosen't have to cost an arm and a leg.

A few practical ideas I've come across over the years are:

Lip balm. Always great to have whether in the sun or skiing. They come in a variety of different colors as well.

Another fun idea is a great pair of flip flops. Especially the ones that have JUST MARRIED embossed on the back.

There are many more cute and inexpensive ideas to be had!

These small tokens will also serve as a great keepsake of the fabulous Destination Wedding long after the dancing ends!

3 Essential Items to take on YOUR DESTINATION WEDDING

As a Destination Wedding Specialist, I always recommend the three following items ..

Firstly any type of DRYER SHEET will definitely keep your special clothes smelling fresh. Pack them midway through your suitcase. Once you arrive and unpack, place it in your dress, his suit jacket. It will make a big difference!

Secondly, any CLEAR NAIL POLISH will do the trick for a variety of situations. Did you know if you have a zipper that won't zip, one swipe and you'll be good to go??

Thirdly, and my personal favorite..MY DAMN HEELS. If you're anything like me, you love your heels! If you want to party well into the morning, these are a must have!!! They also make for excellent gifts for your bridal party. You must check them out!

As a Destination Wedding Specialist in Montreal, one of the most common questions I get is "How far in advance should we start planning?".

In a perfect world, a year ahead is ideal. This allows your guests time to prepare by requesting the time off work, to make arrangements for children or pets who may not be traveling and maybe a great opportunity to shed few pounds!

The earlier you start, the greater your hotel choices and generally the lowest rates.

That being said, a flawless Destination Wedding can easily be pulled off within 3 months, providing you have a dedicated Specialist working with you.

The first thing you may want to do is send out Save the Dates. This can be done by mail or electronically, email or e-invite.

There are no shortage of designs which can easily be found by doing a little surfing on the web.

Because travel will be involved you would want to send your invitations out at least3 months prior to your wedding. Unlike a traditional wedding when they should be out 6 weeks prior. Again, you can chose to do so electronically or by mail. At this time I suggest adding an insert with your Destination Wedding Specialist's name, number and email. Group travel will always cost your guests less money!

When to star planning Your Destination Wedding?

As a Destination Wedding Specialist located in Montreal, I am repeatedly asked the same question...

How far in advance should we be planning our wedding?

Ideally, the more time you have the better. Planning a Destination Wedding over the period of a year is very common. This allows for your guests to ask for time off work, make preparations for children or pets who will not be traveling. Also permits for a variety of hotels to chose from. That being said, it's very possible to pull off a flawless Destination Wedding given 3 months notice.

Once you've chosen your date and location and have all your rates in order, the first thing you'll want to do time permitting is send out Save the Date.

Easy Make Up made easy for Your Destination Wedding or Honeymoon

I swear by mineral makeup. It's easy to apply, looks natural, and goes for all skin types. Better than that, it's got SPF in it!! Whether you're on a ski honeymoon or a Caribbean Destination Wedding it always looks fabulous. The longer it's on the better it looks.

Mindy Shear's make up is the one I use, always. With a few simple touch ups you can go from day to night in only a very few minutes. If you don't live in Montreal, no worries you can find her products at http://www.mindyshear.com/ The best part is, you really can't go wrong. If you're off by a shade nobody will ever know.

Mindy carries a variety of Destination Wedding kits ~ all you need for your big day in one case. Gifts for your bridal party is another great idea. Doesn't take up much space packing and makes for a unique and practical gift.

You can find Mindy at her studio located at the Salon Deauville, in Montreal.

Trust me, her products are amazing!!
