Here are our basic tips for keeping everything under control and affordable.

Incorporate as many DIY projects as possible. 

                                                                                                

Start with your invitations and most paper goods such as reception Menus.

They are easy to transport (don't take up much room) and can save you lots!

Look on Etsy if you're not that inclined!

Keep your color scheme in mind too.

Instead of six things that are important to you for your wedding, think 3!

Yes, that's right three!

You might want to consider upgrading your bar with premium liquor or have the best beef and fish instead of a buffet at the reception.

One thing we find important is lighting and music, this will keep the party going for as long as you want.

Our last thought is a great photographer after all these pictures will last a lifetime.

Something you'll want to show your grandchildren one day!

Most important, be sure to pick a budget friendly resort.  

Only you have an idea as to how much your family and friends might want to spend to come celebrate your destination wedding with you.

Once this has been decided be sure to enlist the services of a fabulous destination wedding planner.  

Even if you have a family travel agent, they might not be qualified to assist with something as important as your destination wedding.

                                                                                                  

Once at destination and at your wedding always remember to make your guests feel so special. You can do this several ways ~ by booking local transfers or making sure special dietary needs are looked after.

Beat the Heat with these Awesome Tips at Your Destination Wedding

If you've chosen a tropical location for your Destination Wedding chances are it's going to be very hot during your ceremony and reception.





Get ahead of the game with these few simple tips:












If the length of your hair covers the back of your neck consider having an Up Do. 

With this style the more it falls out the better it generally looks. 

Should you decide to keep it down consider loose waves or a beachy look. 





Don't go for anything too severe and perfect it probably won't last the night.

When it comes to your bridal party stay away from very dark colors. 

We all know they do attract and retain heat. 

One of our fave colors this year and is trending is metallic and our absolute fave being rosegold. 

Neutrals (blush, ivory) always classic as well!     

                                                                                     

Make sure you have a beverage station that serves plenty of bottled water at your reception.

A fabulous and inexpensive idea is to print labels up before you leave and stick them on water bottles! 

Use your destination wedding hashtag too!

                                                                                

Have a few chairs or benches set up as well for the older guests.

Nothing worse than feeling hot and uncomfortable when you're all dressed up.

Be very sure to keep your make up as natural looking as possible. 

Nobody wants to see cracked or cake make up or worse for you to be checking it all night long. 

There are so many wonderful items you can buy at the pharmacy to prevent make up disasters. 

Blot sheets and setting spray to name a few.

How and where you met right up to your engagement.

Don't forget to include your favorite pictures!

Keep it light.  Funny pictures are always a hit!

Introduce your guests to the resort you've chosen.

Try to include as much detail as possible without going overboard.

If you've made travel provisions for them by holding a few rooms provide all the necessary information for them to proceed to make their reservations.

Now is a great time to remind everybody to check the expiry date on their passports and if Visas will be required for entry into the destination you've chosen.

If you're dealing with a destination wedding specialist (which we highly recommend) be very sure to have all their contact info listed, including email and phone numbers.

                                                                                                                                                               

Having an "Activity" tab is another great idea.

Let your party know which activities will be available to them at destination.

Always a bonus to post the complimentary features the resort may offer such a a Mini Camp for the children, tennis, water sports etc..

                                                          

                                                                                 

A detailed Trip Itinerary might be posted a month prior to departure.

This may include time and place of a Welcome Dinner, Farewell Brunch and of course your wedding location and time.

Make sure you have a print out of this "itinerary" and include it in the Welcome Bags.

With the 2017 Destination Wedding Season well under way, we've noticed a few new and updated reception trends this year.

Lots of brides are asking  for the lounge vibe on the beach.

This setup is free of tables and chairs as we know traditional wedding receptions  since the beginning of time.

Chairs are replaced by fluffy and comfortable pillows or outdoor patio sofas with tables that are  non existent.

 You might want to think twice if you have your parents' friends and grandparents attending.

This could cause them unnecessary cramps.

While we really do love this set up, please consider your guests!

It does make for the most fabulous S'Mores Bar Ever!! 

If that's part of your midnight plans!

If you are a very intimate group celebrating your Destination Wedding with mostly couples only, you might want to consider tables for 2.

This will be a romantic night not only for you, but for everybody attending as well.

Finally, if you have all your family with grandparents and young children you might want to consider a "barn style reception"

We remind all destination wedding brides to pass by the Dollar Store before they take off and purchase activity, coloring books, crayons, water paint and whatever else might keep the young ones busy during your reception.
