Destination Wedding Etiquette

Destination weddings continue to evolve on a regular basis due to their increasing popularity.

As a result sometimes you might find yourself in a sticky situation having to answer questions which would never be asked if you were having a traditional wedding.

When should you send out your Save the Dates?

Try to give your guests as much notice as possible.

They also have to plan for their time off and think about work, family and other obligations.
Nine months to a year is standard.

If you choose to give more or less time that's alright too!

Nowhere is it written that you must host a Welcome Dinner or a Farewell Brunch.

Most couples opt to do at least one of these two get togethers.
It will give your guests a chance to meet each other and spend some quality time with you too!

If you are traveling to an all inclusive, there would be no additional charges and most do find it a very thoughtful gesture.

You can also host a bonfire on the beach and roast s'mores!

If you've decided to have an adult only wedding this might cause a problem if  some will be traveling with their children.

It's not suggested to print "Adults Only" or "No Children" on your invitations.
Make sure the invitations are addressed to Mr. & Mrs. only.

Why not start by letting your bridal party know and have them help you spread the word.
Always remember if asked, be tactful especially if dealing with a parent of these children.

While not mandatory, Welcome Bags are always such a considerate token of your appreciation .
Especially after a day of travel.
My favorite part of these gifts is to include a personal handwritten note.

No need to break the bank
Fill these bags or boxes with flip fops, bottled water and many other useful and inexpensive items.

As always your destination wedding specialist should have many more great idea for you.

Please remember we would love to give you a complimentary quote.
We offer complimentary stays and very flexible payment plans.

Hope to hear from you,

Heidi
